TEMPORARY LICENSE - ESSENTIAL NEED LICENSE
If you have been convicted of habitual traffic violations in Grand Prairie, Texas, or other serious offenses, such as Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or overdue State Surcharges, your driver's license may be suspended as a result. At the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno, we have been defending against DL suspension in Grand Prairie for over 20 years, and may be retained to defend against your DL suspension as well. Perhaps your driver's license has already been suspended as a result of a traffic violation committed in Grand Prairie. If this is the situation that you have found yourself in, our law firm may still be able to assist you, by seeking on your behalf an Occupational Driver's License (ODL), which is a temporary driver's license. If you would like additional information on Grand Prairie DL suspension, please complete our DL Suspension Contact Form.
If your driver's license is about to be suspended, whether as a result of minor traffic offenses committed in Grand Prairie, or major convictions, such as drunk driving, you will be notified beforehand. The Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS) will mail you a Notice of Suspension, which will allott you a certain amount of days to respond and request a DL suspension hearing. If a DL suspension hearing is granted to you by Texas DPS, the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno may then be hired to represent you in the Dallas County Justice Court.
Perhaps it is too late to challenge your Grand Prairie DL suspension, as your driver's license has already been suspended over violations previously committed. Why not see if our law firm can't seek you a temporary, Occupational DL? If we are able to acquire you an ODL, which is sometimes referred to as an Essential Need License, you may then continue to drive legally for the duration of your Grand Prairie DL Suspension. If you do not know why DPS has mailed you a DL suspension notice in the first place, consider reviewing a copy of your driving record.
Once you are mailed a Notice of Suspension by the Department of Public Safety, you will have only 20 calendar days to request a DL suspension hearing with DPS. If DPS grants you a DL suspension hearing, also consider seeking legal counsel from Jack Byno & Associates. We may be retained to provide you with defense during your Grand Prairie DL suspension hearing, which will be held in the Dallas County Justice of the Peace Court. Have you failed to respond to a DL suspension notice mailed to you by DPS? If so, your driver's license may already be suspended. Or perhaps you were granted a DL suspension hearing, but were not successful in your attempts to safeguard your DL. In this case, Jack Byno & Associates may be hired to seek you an Occupational Driver's License (ODL). While an ODL would be beneficial during your DL suspension, it does come with certain driving restrictions that must be followed at all times. This driving restrictions include when and where you may drive, and you are caught neglecting them, you could be up against a Driving While License Invalid (DWLI) charge, which can lead to court fines, an extended Grand Prairie DL suspension and sometimes even arrest.
Even if the Texas Department of Public Safety has decided to suspend you driver's license for reasons including serious Grand Prairie traffic violations on your driving record, remember that you are not necessarily out of options when it comes to staying behind the wheel and, if you hold a CDL, at work. The Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno may be able to successfully dispute your violation in the Dallas County JP Court, or we can attempt to seek you an Occupational DL. If you would like to learn more about Grand Prairie DL suspension, DL suspension notices or hearings, or ODLs, please fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form or contact us at 817-685-0912.
