GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS TRAFFIC TICKET ATTORNEY

DRIVERS LICENSE SUSPENSION

HEARINGS - SUSPENSIONS - REVOCATIONS - OCCUPATONAL DL

grand prairie drivers license suspension lawyer

If your driver's license is in danger of being suspended as a result of habitual traffic violations committed in Grand Prairie, Texas, or for more serious reasons, such as Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), you will be notified in advance. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will mail you a Notice of Suspension, and will allow you a certain amount of time to request a DL suspension hearing. If granted to you, a DL suspension hearing will take place in the Dallas County Justice of the Peace Court, where Jack Byno & Associates would represent you if retained to defend against the suspension of your driver's license. Has your regular driver's license already been suspended? Our law firm may still be able to assist you, by seeking you an Occupational Driver's License (ODL), which is a temporary DL. For additional information on Grand Prairie DL suspension, and how the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno may be able to defend against the suspension of your driver's license, please fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form.

DL Suspension notice for Grand Prairie Drivers

If you receive a Notice of Suspension from the Department of Public Safety, you will have only 20 days to respond and request a DL suspension hearing with DPS. Even if your driver's license has been designated for suspension for serious reasons, such as a Grand Prairie DWI conviction on your driving record, the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno may be retained for legal representation, if a DL suspension hearing is granted for you by DPS. If hired to represent you at your scheduled hearing, we may then be able to defend against your looming Grand Prairie DL suspension in the Dallas County Justice Court. Are you confused as to why Texas DPS has mailed you a DL suspension notice in the first place? You may find the answers you are looking for by requesting a copy of your Texas Driving Record.

Grand Prairie DL Suspension-Causes
There are a number of potential reasons the Department of Public Safety may decide to suspend your driver's license. These include:
  • Habitual Grand Prairie traffic violations
  • Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), also known as drunk driving
  • Driving without auto insurance
  • Medical revocation at the behest of a doctor
  • Causing a car accident in Grand Prairie and failing to provide proof of insurance, or causing injury to another driver and failing to pay for resulting medical care.

Occupational DL for Grand Prairie

While the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno may be retained to challenge the suspension of your driver's license in the JP Court, in some cases it is too late for us to do so, as your DL may already be suspended for a number of possible reasons. Perhaps you did not request a Grand Prairie DL suspension hearing with DPS during the 20 calendar days allotted to you, or perhaps you lost a DL suspension hearing that was granted to you. Either way, while it may appear as if your are out of legal options when it comes to staying behind the wheel legally, this is not necessarily the case, and you are not necessarily out of reach of legal services provided by Jack Byno & Associates. We may be able to seek you a temporary DL known as an Occupational Driver's License (ODL). If granted to you, an Occupational DL (or Essential Need License) would allow you to drive temporarily to work, school and other places you require transportation to each day. If an ODL is permitted to you, you must follow all driving restrictions that may come with it. These restrictions may include certain times of the day during which you may drive, and where you may drive yourself to. Failure to abide by these ODL driving restrictions may result in a Driving While License Invalid (DWLI) charge, which may result in extended Grand Prairie DL suspension, costly court fines and even arrest.
